I love my TypePad blog. It's my baby, and I spend more time looking at it and working on it than I'd like to admit. I play with it so much that every time I look at my traffic reports, I have the feeling that the vast majority of the hits are coming from me, not outside viewers.
But since I've been working with Andy, I've been getting a tempting taste of why most probloggers prefer WordPress to TypePad or any other blogging platform.
Andy uses WordPress for everything. His blogs are in WordPress, he created an "team space" for us in WordPress (very effective as an intranet for a small biz), and he's moving all his product sites into WordPress so that those of us on his team can easily update them (before, his product sites were in Dreamweaver, and he was having to put them together himself.)
You can also use WordPress to run a teleseminar, setup a membership site, sell through PayPal, manage a product site, host a salespage... and tons more.
I mean, as much as I love my TypePad blog for it's user friendliness, I have to admit that I've been fantasizing about taking the training wheels off, having my own WordPress blog, putting Adsense on it, doing all the nifty plug-ins, having an oh-so-cool looking template. The works!
The other day I was thinking "I'm tired of day dreaming about it--I want to get started!"
As luck would have it, Andy just announced that he's teaming up with WordPress junkie Sherman Hu to promote Sherman's WordPress Essentials class. I've heard amazing things about Sherman, and if Andy endorses him, then he's got to be the real deal.
Andy and Sherman are going to be doing a free call on September 13 at 2pm EST to introduce all of us WordPress junkie wannabes to the platform.
Imagine--Andy and Sherman, two of the top WordPress experts around, both on the call. Really, if you've been flirting with the idea of blogging in WordPress, you don't want to miss this call!
Here's the registration page for the free preview call: WordPress Essentials. I'll see you there!
Sharon, I went to WordPressEssentials.com but there is no active link for registering. I was going to recommend it to a client, and also register for the class. Can you let me know?
Warmly,
Anne

Hi Anne!
Thanks for bringing that to my attention. We've been plagued with technical difficulties this week, so stuff is a little bit skewed. Andy is trying to get everything looking normal again.
Andy has fixed the page, so go ahead and look back at the page and sign up:

Thanks so much for letting me know!
Have a great day,
Sharon
